a Quebec Family’s
Vacation
A Quebec family had a nasty surprise while vacationing during the summer in Florida: their SUV, a Cadillac Escalade worth approximately $70,000, was stolen from a parking spot in front of a residence in Fort Lauderdale.
The theft was immediately reported by phone to the head office of Tag Tracking, the company that sells the tracking system the vehicle was equipped with. The monitoring screens at Tag, which specializes in auto theft prevention and vehicle recovery, showed that the vehicle in question was in Miami, specifically in Miami-Dade County.
Tag’s security technicians immediately contacted several law enforcement agencies, including the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles and the local police force in Miami-Dade.
The next day, a team of tracking technicians was dispatched to Miami from Montréal. Upon their arrival, they found the vehicle parked on SW 94th Ct in Sweetwater.
Next, Tag’s team alerted law enforcement in Miami-Dade County, who were able to recover the vehicle and proceed with a more complete expert identification. The licence plate had already been changed and the new licence plate was registered to a Cadillac dealership in Florida.
Tag’s customers were eventually able to recover their vehicle in perfect condition, get back on the road, and finish their family vacation.

Tag Tracking tackles the Ontario market
Québec tops all other provinces when it comes to vehicle theft, particularly when it comes to Montréal. But Toronto is moving up the ranks as well; many thieves from La Belle Province now operate out of Ontario, according to Tag Tracking.

OPP finds stolen Jeep in shipping container after second attempted driveway theft
A Jeep discovered by Ontario police in a shipping container has been traced back to its owner after the vehicle was stolen over the weekend from a driveway.
(It had been stored in a container with another stolen vehicle that had the Tag Tracking system installed!)
